* Children's Day Children's Day

Celebrate Children's Day - Kodomo no Hi - at the Japanese Friendship Garden! Activities are free with admission. Children’s day is a national Japanese holiday celebrated on May 5th, the 5th day of the 5th month. Traditionally, this day was known as Boys Day and was set aside to honor fathers and sons, much as Girls Day on March 3 celebrates mothers and daughters. However in 1948, Boys Day was changed to Children’s Day to celebrate the happiness of all children and express gratitude towards both parents. click here for more information.

Calling all new moms and soon to be moms. Our baby shower event is happening on Wednesday, May 24th, at 6 p.m. and we want you to be part of this free event. Hosted by Dr. Blanca of Pediatrics in Paradise and co-sponsored by Babies ‘R’ Us in Chula Vista. There will be a free raffle for prizes, and every new mom will receive a free goodie bag.
