Like most kids, mine LOVE the rides at Disneyland, Legoland, Knotts Berry Farm, etc. Every year we spend a lot of money to enjoy what these parks have to offer.
But this week on our family vacation we experienced the wildest ride yet…on a 22-passenger boat floating down the Pearl River in Slidell, Louisiana.
We “met” lots of gators.
And even got to feed one!
You see, I’m from New Orleans, and every summer we head back South to vacation with my family. For the first time ever I decided to search for special things to do with kids in the area and up popped a number of swamp tours. Our tour was AMAZING. It was beautiful, it was thrilling, and it was educational.
To my surprise I found that none of my Louisiana relatives had ever taken their kids on one of these fantastic tours. In fact, they had never heard of Cajun Encounters even though the swamp tour is a quick 40 minute drive outside their hometown.
Sure, amusement parks are wonderful for families, but being up close with nature can be even more exciting. Now that we’ve caught the bug, here are a few wild San Diego adventures our family plans to explore.
