I unsubscribed from Groupon long ago after realizing that all of those “deals” were wrecking my monthly budget. But every now and then I like to pop onto the site to see what’s on sale, and this week I found one of our old favorites; CeramiCafe.
I first brought Mallory to CeramiCafe’s pottery painting studio when she was three months old to make a gift featuring her teeny tiny hand print. We’ve been back many times since painting everything from garden gnomes to dinner plates. Regardless of what we made, I always left thinking, “This place is expensive!”
When I saw the Groupon offering $30 in merchandise for $15 it seemed like the right time to head back in. The studio was PACKED with other happy Groupon shoppers. We literally had to sit outside. But, it was a great mother/daughter activity at a terrific price. The $15 voucher covered all but $4 of our two projects.
CeramiCafe is located at Grossmont Mall in La Mesa and in Del Mar on Del Mar Heights Road. Clay ‘N Latte, with locations in Carmel Valley and Vista, also has a paint-your-own-pottery deal going now. Check them out if you want to get crafty at a frugal price!
