Gymboree of Scripps-Poway Gets a Facelift!

My own kids are now too old for this kind of fun, but they sure loved Gymboree Play & Music when they were 5 and younger!

Gymboree in Poway hosted its Grand Re-Opening Celebration earlier this month to both enrolled members and the public. The event attracted a packed house of families eagerly exploring the brand new custom play equipment, taking a sneak preview of the new classes and meeting the beloved mascot, Gymbo the Clown.

“We’re so excited to bring this update to our first location,” said Jill Durby, owner of three San Diego Gymboree locations. “The Gymboree Corporation has been working for years on the design, development, and testing of this equipment. We’re so proud of what they’ve created, and we can’t wait to share it with our families.”

The update includes a modular design that changes every other week. Everywhere on the equipment, one sees added challenge, height and interest. In addition to the new equipment and modern color scheme, the play floor also includes a continuous padded floor that uses the latest in modern technology to achieve the highest safety standards.

If you missed the event, don’t fret. Gymboree Play & Music offers a free trial class to all new families. You can visit their website to choose from a variety of classes, seven days per week.

Gymboree classes encourage development through play and learning through a program designed to support a child’s growth at his or her own individual pace. One of the most distinguishing feature of Gymboree Play & Music, is their approach to parent involvement, which encourages participation in and

understanding of each child’s development. This reason is simple: children learn best when parents enter their world of play and imagination.

Jill echoed this point, “What has been most exciting about seeing families use the new equipment is the way it engages the adults. There are so many ways for the caregiver to interact with the child while they play, and the shared smiles are priceless!”

In addition to Poway, Gymboree has three other locations in San Diego County – Chula Vista, Clairemont Mesa, and Solana Beach. All families with children 0-5 years are welcome to sign up for a free trial class at any location. Go see why Gymboree has been the global leader in classes for kids for over 35 years.

New families who mention the Mom’s Guide to San Diego upon enrollmentĀ receive a waiver for the New Membership fee (a $45 value).

All Gymboree locations will be transitioning to the new equipment and programming in the near future. Keep your eye out for more details!
