There are many special ways to celebrate the holidays, but taking a trip on the North Pole Limited is one of the most magical in all of Southern California.
Children munch on chocolate chip cookies, sip hot chocolate and sing Christmas carols as the train approaches Santa’s workshop.
Parents help write letters to Santa in anticipation of the special time they will spend with him.
Elves read the story of The Polar Express.
Then, finally, the train approaches, and Santa can be seen waving and ho-ho-ho ing
After Santa climbs aboard he makes his way throughout the train, stopping to sit with each and every family, listening to Christmas wishes and spreading holiday joy.
Although the Santa train is nearly an hour drive from San Diego and costs $30 per child’s seat $40 per adult ticket, it sells out just about every year. There are only two dates left in 2014.
A great new option this year is a Santa’s Toddler Train on Sunday, December 14th at 1 p.m. for children who are too young to stay up for the trip to the North Pole Limited.
Visit the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum’s website for more information, and add the North Pole Limited to your list of holiday events.
