This is what it looked like the summer Mallory learned to swim.
We had just wrapped up two consecutive sessions of lessons at Bubbles Swim School in Spring Valley, and this was the first summer she was able to jump into a pool without floaties.
What joy!
(for her AND us!)
There are lots of places that offer swim lessons in San Diego. We loved Bubbles, a family owned company that has been teaching San Diego kids to swim since 1976. But our friend and Mom’s Guide contributor, Sarah, thinks the North County’s Waterworks is pretty great.
Her little fishies enjoyed the 84 degree water and the small class sizes. Sarah enjoyed being able to schedule online and stop or start classes whenever she wanted.
Even more convenient is a swim lesson that comes to you. The Mom’s Guide hosted a pool play date last summer that featured swim lessons in our own pool with Sunsational Swim School. Instructors come to your home or community pool, providing children a certain level of comfort that they may not have in a strange setting.
Another mobile swim company, Aquamobile, offers a list of public pools around the county that you can use should you not have your own home or community pool.
Swim lessons in San Diego are a must given our year-round access to pools, bays and the ocean. And with a little research you’ll find the perfect fit for your family’s location, availability and budget.
Great article!
