Viewing the Eclipse with San Diego Moms & Kids

While San Diegans will only see about 60% of the celestial event of the century — a total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st — it will still be amazing. Check out this video simulation of what we can expect to experience.

Chelsea and I are super excited to share it with our children and YOURS! There are multiple viewing parties happening throughout the county, but we’d like to invite you to come to OURS.

No, we won’t have telescopes, scientists or the ability to craft our own eclipse viewers like some schools, libraries and museums are offering. This is simply a gathering of families looking for a safe way to view the eclipse without the chaos of the larger event crowds.

We will hand out 25 sets of eclipse glasses to moms who pre-register. Participants must be present to collect their complimentary ISO 12312-2 compliant and CE certified eclipse glasses. The lenses of our glasses will filter out 100% of harmful ultra-violet and infrared rays and 99.999% of intense visible light for your safety.

  1. How fun! I bet everyone had a blast. We had the opportunity to watch the eclipse with friends from school. It was a great experience to share with the kiddos.
