Spring Break starts this week for many students across San Diego County and continues through the week after Easter. Here is a list of our top 5 FREE things to do with your kiddos while they’re out of school.
1. Residents Free Tuesdays at select Balboa Park museums
Every Tuesday different museums in Balboa Park are open for free to San Diego residents. My kids love the Air & Space Museum, which is open for free this Tuesday, March 27th. While the Kids’ Aviation Hanger is closed during free Tuesdays, there are lots of other cool things to check out from the early days of flight through the space age. Visit sandiegoairandspace.org to learn more.
If your spring break starts (or continues into) next week like ours does, you’ll get to enjoy three more awesome and kid-friendly museums for free. The Fleet Science Center, the Model Railroad Museum and the Natural History Museum are all free on Tuesday, April 3rd.
Find the complete Residents Free Tuesday schedule here.
2. The Mom’s Guide Indoor Egg Hunt at Children’s Choice Pediatric Dental
Join us on Wednesday, March 28th when we co-host an Indoor Egg Hunt & Open House at Children’s Choice Pediatric Dental in Southeast San Diego. We’re going to experience the dentist in a fun way, search the office for eggs, enjoy a light lunch, swag bags, raffle prizes and an interactive oral health presentation. Find out more here.
How fun! Several San Diego Parks are hosting free weekday egg hunts for kids up to 11. Two Mira Mesa parks , Memorial Park in Southeast San Diego and Presidio Park in the Balboa Park area each have weekday events. View the full list of San Diego City Park egg hunts here.
San Diego’s Central Library will be showing the movie Wonder on Monday, March 26th from 3:30 – 5:30. For more information click here.
Our friends at the Santee Library are doing something special for spring break-ers April 2nd through the 6th like “Cooking with Kids” where kids will make a layered dessert and “Heart and Hooves” where kids will meet real miniature horses and find out how they are helping people in our community. Find out what your local library is doing this spring break and all year long by visiting the City of San Diego libraries website and the County of San Diego libraries website.
Whatever you do this spring break, we hope you find time to relax and enjoy your family!
