San Diego Summer Fun Starts THIS Week

It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year ~ the start of so much summer fun.

Mark your calendars and save the date for these awesome events and activities that begin the last week of May.

Aquatica Waterpark Opens Friday, May 25th

I admit that I was a little sad to see that Legoland’s waterpark beat Aquatica in a recent Mom’s Guide to San Diego poll. We live closer to Aquatica’s amazing rides, slides and pools, but that’s not the only reason we love it as much as the Legoland attraction. Aquatica is fun for kids of all ages, the price is right, the pools are clean and the park is easy to get around. Added bonus … parents are able to sip a cocktail while watching the kiddos play.

Aquatica’s current Splash Pass annual pass special is just $47.99 for unlimited visits throughout the season, May 25 – Oct. 28. There’s also a special on one-day rate of $25 available through Groupon right now. If you plan to visit Aquatica regularly with your kids, you should purchase one Premium Season Pass. The cost is $89, which includes parking for each visit. Parking fees are $17 without the premium pass.

Aquatica’s 2018 season opens this Friday, May 25th! For more information about Aquatica in San Diego, visit aquatica.com/san-diego.

FREE Movies in the Park kick off Friday, May 25th

The first great thing about San Diego County’s Summer Movies in the Park series is that the movies are FREE! They also tend to be the ones your kids really, really love like Coco, Moana, Captain Underpants LEGO Batman, Wonder and more.

Summer movies are played all over the county, from Oceanside to OB, Lakeside to Liberty Station. Many parks turn their movie nights into community festivals by including food trucks, music and kid-friendly activities.

Join us this Friday, May 25th for Coco on the big screen at San Diego’s Waterfront Park. Find out more by visiting summermoviesinthepark.com and by facebook.com/SummerMoviesInThePark.

FREE Hullabaloo on the Waterfront Concerts start Sunday, May 27th

Summer in San Diego means free, live music in parks all across the county, and that includes music especially for kids and their grown ups, courtesy of Hullabaloo Band.

It’s the perfect way to end your weekend. Bring the whole family, throw down a picnic blanket, and enjoy the happy tunes of Hullabaloo Band as the sun sets over San Diego Bay.

Hullabaloo on the Waterfront concerts start this Sunday, May 27th and continue once a month through September. Details can be found on our Facebook events page.

PS: (Don’t forget a change of clothes for any kiddos who might want to splash in the fountains before showtime 😉 )
