Aviara Community Park
This safe camping experience is fun for the first time camper as well as the seasoned pro. Set up your tent in the park for a fun overnight campout, and we’ll provide the rest. Enjoy fun games, activities, and crafts. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and end the evening with popcorn, s’mores and a movie under the stars. The morning includes a continental breakfast and a hike on one of Carlsbad’s many scenic trails.

IB Surf Dog Competition

It’s time for the most adorable surf event of the year . . .the 14th annual Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition, where fearless surFUR dogs will jump on their boards and hang 20 next to the IB Pier! The Imperial Beach event is the original surf dog competition. This family friendly event, which raises funds for the San Diego Humane Society is sure to be a blast.
La Mesa Safety Fair
Saturday, August 10th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
La Mesa Police Station
Families can meet members of the La Mesa Police Department, members of Heartland Fire and Rescue, members of the Special Response Team (SRT), take guided police station tours, learn bike safety and ride on a skills course for kids!
