This happens to be one of my favorite weeks of the year because it is the week my first child was born. But you don’t have to be celebrating a birthday or Veterans Day to have a ton of fun. Check out our list of awesome events this week…

Veterans Day Celebration @ the Carousel

Monday, November 11th from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. 

Balboa Park Carousel

Are you a military family? In honor of Veterans Day, Friends of Balboa Park invites all veterans, active military, and their families to come join us for one FREE ride on the Balboa Park Carousel on November 11. Just show your ID at the ticket booth & enjoy!


Read & Play Event

Tuesday, November 12th at 10:30 a.m. 

Salvation Army Kroc Center

The beautiful Kroc Center hosts this monthly Family Read & Play Day for children ages five and younger. Geared toward getting kids excited about reading, this event is FREE and includes story time featuring the book of the month, playtime with the imagination playground, and a free book for every child to add to their home library.


Friendsgiving Playdate

Tuesday, November 12th from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 

My Yard Live in San Marcos

Celebrate friends big and small at this PopUp PlayDate featuring 20+ Vendors to Shop, FREE Thanksgiving themed activities, LIVE Performances by Hullabaloo, and a diaper and food drive benefiting the San Diego Food Bank.


Make Friends Toddler Time

Friday, November 15th from 10 – 11 a.m. 

The New Children’s Museum, downtown

Make Friends gives your little ones the opportunity to play and interact with others as they enjoy music, singing and dancing. This unique experience teaches children the value of community, friendship and social play while also supporting self-expression in a musical environment. Free with museum admission.


Space Night!

Saturday, November 16th from 5-7:30 p.m. 

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museu

Blast off into the universe and put your astronaut skills to the test with hands-on activities to learn about temperature mapping, galaxies, Planet Earth & our solar system through NASA’s Eyes Technology, coding, Mars, rocket launches and more, through virtual reality.
