Kid's Night Out at Kidventures: Frozen Fun! January 18th from 5-9pm. Join us for a night of Frozen inspired activities and crafts!! Dress- up in comfy clothes or pjs and be ready to play!! Structured adventure play, dinner & a wonderfully fun time while parents have a night to themselves! Prices: $40 first child/$20 siblings; Members get 20% off first child!!! Children ages 5-10 are invited to join Ranger Heidi for a nature story, followed by an arts-and-craft project related to the theme of the story. Meet at the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's picnic shelter (across from the restrooms) on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. This program is FREE, but space is limited. Call to RSVP

Time: 12:00 am

1-mile fun run for kids of all ages and abilities. Participants can run, walk, skip or stroll, or even be pushed in a stroller or carried on a back as they wind through the park, making their way to an exciting, spectator-filled finish line. Each finisher is presented with a shiny finishers medal and treated to a fun post-event party with a DJ, activities, light refreshments and booths.

The parade is filled with dazzling floats, phenomenal High School Bands, Drill Teams, College, Fraternities & Sororities, Churches, Peace and Youth organizations. This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in America, founded in 1906.

MLK Day Critter Camp gives kids the chance to meet a variety of amazing animals while learning why each critter deserves compassion. Through hands-on interactions, crafts, and activities, your child will discover how they can help to create a more humane world. Preschool (must be at least 4 years old): 9 a.m.-1 p.m., $58.00 Kindergarten through 6th Grade: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., $73.00 *Extended care hours, lunch options, and scholarships are available.

* Family Discovery WalkFamily Discovery Walk

Join MTRP Trail Guides on a Family Nature Walk and help your children discover the wonder and beauty of Nature! These walks highlight the many changes that occur in the park throughout the year. Winter is when rains awaken plants from their dry season dormancy and early wildflowers begin to appear. Meet at the Visitor Center on the fourth Sunday of every month at 3:00 p.m. Walks are free and open to the public, with no reservations required. The trails used are easy, but have uneven surfaces and some involve steps, so be sure to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring along water. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended. Walks are canceled if raining.

* ALL GIRLS STEM: NEUROSCIENCEALL GIRLS STEM: NEUROSCIENCE

In collaboration with All Girls STEM Society, Mission Valley Library presents a workshop recommended for girls in Grades 3-8 (ages 8-14); all are welcome.
