* Block Kids Building EventBlock Kids Building Event

The Block Kids Building Program challenges students from kindergarten to 6th grade to use their imagination in constructing a structure or project using interlocking blocks. By introducing children to construction industry careers at an early age, we can create awareness and develop their interest in future careers in the industry. Participants have one hour to construct a structure or project using interlocking blocks and three of the following additional items: a small rock, string, foil, and poster board. Each participant will receive a family pack of tickets for the STEAM Maker Festival as well as a free t-shirt and goodie bag! Get your uniquely PB holiday photo and take your pictures with Santa on the end of historic Crystal Pier on Saturday, December 1st from 2:00- 5:00. Tree lighting at sunset and decorated wreaths will be hung along the pier.

San Diego’s Little Italy will kick-off this holiday season with festive family fun at the 20th Annual Little Italy Tree Lighting and Christmas Village on Saturday, December 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families, friends and neighbors will experience Little Italy’s Christmas magic and will be able to enjoy the community’s festive décor, seasonal vendors, live music and entertainment, horse carriage rides, holiday treats, a tree lighting, a visit from Santa and more!

For over 30 years, our quaint little surfing village of Ocean Beach has hosted one of the best Holiday Parades in SoCal. On the first Saturday in December, Newport Avenue is lined with colorful OBceans and visitors all eagerly awaiting the big event to commence at 5:05pm.

* Peninsula Singers ConcertPeninsula Singers Concert

Peninsula Singers will present “American Holiday Music,” at its popular “Friends of the Library” holiday concert. The concert is free of charge and will take place at the Point Loma/Hervey Library at 2pm. Repertoire will include a blend of familiar carols, popular holiday songs and contemporary classical music by American composers. Peninsula Singers is a Community Choir based in Point Loma under the direction of Sarah Suhonen and accompanied by Stewart Simon on piano. The choir has performed at many venues throughout our community including U.S.S. Midway, the Point Loma Village Cultural Faire, Southwestern Yacht Club, Point Loma High School, several local libraries, and December Nights in Balboa Park.

The Kringle Mingle is Cardiff's most beloved Holiday celebration. A free event for the entire community with live music, holiday treats, kid's craft zone, gorgeous tree lighting and a free professional photo op with Santa!

The La Mesa Village Association's "Holiday in the Village" returns to downtown La Mesa December 7 & 8, 2018! This family friendly event will feature a wonderland of festive holiday music and dance, food, kids activities, shopping and more! Event times are - Friday, Dec. 7th, 4 - 9 pm and Saturday, Dec. 8th, 10 am - 9 pm.

* Coronado Holiday ParadeCoronado Holiday Parade

We will host our 43rd Annual Holiday Parade on Friday, December 7th at 6pm. This hometown parade is a true holiday tradition and thousands line the street each year to kick off the holiday season in style! The parade starts at 6pm, but many come early to Rotary Plaza to sing carols from 5-6pm and anxiously await Santa’s arrival via fire truck.

* Village Walk Holiday FunVillage Walk Holiday Fun

Bring the kids and your cameras and snap a photo of your child with Santa. Pick up a free coloring book from Santa’s elf and then take a free train ride around the shopping center. Plus, children ages 12 and under are invited to make a free holiday craft*. Special afternoon snowfalls will occur at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Enjoy a leisurely lunch or a quick bite to eat at one of our delicious restaurants or eateries and then spend the rest of the afternoon with us shopping and enjoying one of our many free activities.

Join us at Old Poway Park for an old-fashioned holiday tradition that will take you back in time with caroling, live music, a visit with Santa, free children’s crafts, model train displays, and so much more! Purchase tasty holiday treats, finish your Christmas shopping at the craft boutique, or board the Poway Midland Railroad for a night-time ride around the park.

* Mission Bay Boat ParadeMission Bay Boat Parade

The Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights, a distinctly California celebration, features boats decorated for the holidays that will sail around the Bay. This free, distinctly California celebration features boats decorated for the annual holiday season that will sail around Mission Bay. A highly anticipated event in the San Diego community, dozens of vessels take to the water for the parade. The boat parade begins at 6:00 PM from Quivira Basin. Best viewing is from Crown Point, the east side of Vacation Island or the west side of Fiesta Island.

* Breakfast with SantaBreakfast with Santa

The well-loved Parent Connection's Breakfast with Santa will include music by Hullabaloo, a full hot breakfast, a special guest appearance from Elsa, cookie decorating, and a letter station to send letters to the troops.

* Millenia Urban ArcticMillenia Urban Arctic

Kick off the holiday season at Millenia’s Stylus Park on Saturday, December 8th from 11a.m. to 4p.m. Frolic in the winter wonderland with 100 tons of snow! Meet Santa, his live reindeer and the ice princesses. Hop on the free trolley to explore Millenia’s neighborhoods where you can enjoy more festivities, seasonal treats and holiday beverages with carolers and more! There’s no better (or more fun) way to ring in the season! Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for our Salvation Army toy drive benefitting our local Chula Vista community.

Stop by the Giant Snow Globe located near the Children’s Play area between 4 and 6 pm on Sunday, December 9 &16 and receive a free photo and video sent via text by our professional photographers. Visitors can also enjoy taking photos and videos of loved ones frolicking in our nightly snowfall at 6 and 7 pm nightly from December 8-24 in the area between Hooked on Crab and Pho Hiep.

The dates for 2018 are December 9 and December 16, 2018 The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is a time-honored holiday tradition brought to San Diego by the boating community. Continuing its long-standing San Diego tradition, the 47th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights promises to dazzle and entertain bayfront crowds during the evenings of December 9 and 16, 2018. Participants in this year’s highly anticipated holiday boat parade will decorate their boats to fit this year’s theme, Tropical Island Christmas.

We will start the event with a cozy screening of The Polar Express: we invite you to attend in pajamas and enjoy the movie snuggled in your favorite blanket. The scenic, bayside streets of downtown San Diego will come alive with the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade! As always, this exciting family event brings together world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons – more than any other parade! Over 100,000 street-side spectators will enjoy the parade along with a nationwide television audience. Street side viewing of the parade is FREE!
